Samsung launches it's flagship flip phone in China
Samsung is the only reputed mobile phone manufacturers in the world, which feels the necessity of making old school style flip phone in a timely manner. Though the release is always market centric by we appreciated the effort. Samsung has released the W2017 flip phone late last year and for the last couple of weeks rumor of a successor is coming was heard in the air. Samsung has finally announced this handset officially. As expected, the SM-G9298 or “Leader 8” has only been confirmed for China Mobile. It’s also unlikely that the handset will be launched elsewhere.
Crafted from an aviation-grade aluminum alloy the Leader 8 is powered by Snapdragon 821 CPU coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage with microSD card support, and a 12MP camera with a wider f/1.7 aperture to let more light in. The front facing camera is 5MP with an f/1.9 aperture. The phone has a 4.2-inch full HD Super AMOLED display on the outside as well as on the inside. Measuring in at 130.2 x 62.6 x 15.9mm, the handset weighs 235g. It has a 2,300mAh battery with support for wireless charging. Additional features include fast-wireless charging, Samsung Pay, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. There’s a configurable hotkey, and an Always-on display.
Samsung is yet to confirm the price and release date for customers in China.
