    Nokia X5 is announced with dual rear camera, notched display with a $150 price tag

    Today HMD Global in China announced Nokia X5, also known as Nokia 5.1 Plus. The smartphone runs stock Android 8.1 Oreo operating system and HMD Global promises a swift update to Android P when the final version of the OS gets out. The mid-range is built around a 5.86-inch HD+ (720x1520 pixels) display (19:9 aspect ratio) with 2.D curved glass on the edges and boasts an 84% screen-to-body ratio. This notch is home to an 8-megapixel selfie sensor that offers various AI enhancements such as a blurred background effect. The rear setup sits vertically on top of the glass build and boasts a main 13-megapixel camera and a secondary 5-megapixel sensor which, together, are capable of producing portrait images. Also, it’s worth noting that the setup is coupled with a dual-tone LED flash. It is powered by Helio P60 processor and backed by a 3,060mAh battery.

    Connectivity options on this phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM Radio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Onboard sensors include an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, digital compass, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. It bears a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel. Nokia X5 3GB RAM+32GB storage option is priced at $150. The 4GB RAM+64GB storage option costs $210. Nokia X5 will be available in three color variants – Black, Blue, and White. Online retailers like Suning, JD, Lynx and Nokia's own official website will take orders starting tomorrow, July 19, only in China for the time being. There is no word yet on whether the company plans on launching this globally.
