Samsung planning to relaunch Galaxy Note 7 with smaller battery

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is the name of biggest disaster in Samsung's history and it was surely on of the most discussed topic in 2016. Looks like 2017 will have the same topic on its sleeves after a report from South Korean Hankyung, is confirming that Samsung could bring back the Galaxy Note 7 to the market in refurbished form. Just a quick math for you, according to the Samsung's own report published last month, they had 2.5 million Galaxy Note 7s left over after using 20,000 Note 7s in testing to determine the cause of the problem. Samsung has reportedly recovered 98% of the 3 million Galaxy Note 7 units it sold worldwide last year in a span of a month because the devices received unprecedented praise from the critics and users.

The company will reduce the battery capacity from the original's 3,500 mAh, expected to be between 3,000 and 3,200 mAh. While it remains highly unlikely the device would make a comeback to US and European markets following ban regulations, Note 7 devices are apparently destined for emerging markets like India and Vietnam. The refurbished Note 7s will reportedly feature many of the same components as the original but is said to be designing a new case for the device and go on sale in June. Why June? Why not now? Because Samsung will release Galaxy S8 in a while and renewed Note 7 will have to be tagged with much lower price tag than it was used to have in 2016.

There are more benefits of selling a refurbished variant of the Galaxy Note 7 besides economic point of view. Because it will help Samsung to figure out a way to solve the environmental issue related to disposing of electronic components.
